Overcharging of combustion engines
Vojtěšek, Aleš ; Vopařil, Jan (referee) ; Zháňal, Lubor (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with outline the history of supercharging and dismantling of several major ways. In particular the use of mechanical supercharging and turbocharging, mentioning its positive and negative sides. Furhetmore, introducing of several versions of the combined supercharging and expected future developments.
Modern trends in engine forced induction
Podhora, David ; Zubík, Martin (referee) ; Knotek, Jiří (advisor)
The goal of this bachelor thesis is to summarize the fundamental knowledge about supercharging the combustion engines, whereas the emphasis is on the modern trends of this branch. The first two chapters are aiming at the basic principles and reasons for using the supercharging method. Further on, this thesis explains the individual elements of supercharging systems and their possible arrangement. The last part is disserting on the most actual modern trends at supercharging of the combustion engines.
Combined supercharging internal combustion engines
Melichar, Marek ; Mauder, Tomáš (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis contains a basic division of various types of combined supercharging and a description of their functions. For the most common types of supercharging technologies there are listed specific examples of usage in the automotive industry. This thesis also contains a short overview of the history of supercharging and an analysis of ideal cycles supercharged internal combustion engines. One of the most important chapters of this thesis is thermal efficiency of supercharged engines and their comparison with naturally aspirated internal combustion engines.
Unconventional Supercharging
Horák, Tomáš ; Píštěk, Václav (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
This Bachelor thesis summarizes the various unconventional ways of improving the performance of combustion engines. This thesis descripts historical, currently used and prototype metods used for this purpose, including the principle of their function. Great emphasis is placed mainly on forced induction engines, since this area is experiencing very rapid development.
Modern Trends in Turbocharging
Sůkal, Jan ; Prokop, Aleš (referee) ; Janoušek, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with modern methods of internal combustion engine turbocharging. The reader is acquainted with basic principles of charging and motivation of its introduction into automotive industry. First part describes in detail design of turbocharger components with emphasis on modern development. In next chapter are mentioned the most common ways of boost control. Final part is focused on combined and multistage turbocharging systems as well as upcoming electric turbocharging technology.
